How donors prefer to give and engage with technology

The inaugural 2017 Global Trends in Giving Report, an online sector survey put out by the Public Interest Registry, surveyed more than 4,000 donors across six continents to get feedback on how online and mobile technology affects their giving. The data is meant to help non-governmental organizations (NGOs), nonprofits organizations (NPOs), and charities worldwide better understand if they are using technology in the ways that their donors prefer and where they need to improve. For example, 66% of donors said that they would mostly use a mobile app that allows two-tap giving while earning badges and redeemable points, in comparison to other concepts including voice-command giving through one’s home personal assistant or car radio.
