Grants Management | Pursuing State & National Funding Opportunities

When Voyageurs Conservancy decided to pursue a Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) funding opportunity to support significant expansion and enhancement of their education and community programs, Executive Director Christina Hausman Rhode knew it would be a time-intensive, heavy lift for her small staff team.

The LCCMR recommends projects for funding to the Minnesota Legislature, with funds coming from the State’s Environmental & Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF). Recommendation from LCCMR is a competitive, multi-step process that includes presenting before the commission if your organization’s project and written proposal rank highly enough in the first phase of consideration.

Having previously worked with AmplifyDMC, Christina looked to AmplifyDMC to partner on this grant proposal. AmplifyDMC led writing and editing efforts, project pacing, and coordination meetings to ensure the team at Voyageurs Conservancy had the support they needed. Along the way, AmplifyDMC offered insights from our experience on other state and federal grants, identified opportunities for program staff to consider outside perspective on internal.

"We've worked with AmplifyDMC in several capacities and increasingly benefit from their grant writing expertise. Amplify has helped us fill in a gap in our small team. Their grant writer has refined and articulated our organizational and program goals in proposals with fresh writing, managed the workflow of putting together major government funding proposals, and added much needed perspective on how we frame our asks."
